Generating interior design ideas to get an ideal home can be a headache (I find it usually are!). Most frequent question that pops up (sometimes without us realizing it) is “Home Interior Design – Where Do I Start?“.

The answer is actually quite subjective, depending on each individual skills (and budget of course) – a pro or an amateur or a totally clueless person. As for a person like me who is not a pro in the Interior Design area (but I am very much interested in interior designing), you can engage yourself with a professional Interior Designer. But then, do remember that it might cost you more than you expected it to be. So, for those who have the luxury to spend and would not want to compromise on the outcome of your interior design, this would definitely be the best choice for you. Besides, you have the final say of almost everything and you get to see the 3D design before it is make into a reality.

However, I found out that many people around me would rather do it on our own when it comes to Home Interior Designing. So do I. You see, since we’ve already spent a lot on settling the down-payment fee of the house as well as other fees, therefore we’re left with only some amount of money that should be carefully spent for the house. Even though we are aware that engaging an Interior Designer help can lessen the ‘burden’ of thinking, but we’ve decided to take the challenge of doing it on our own and let the ‘fun’ begins!

As a start, we have already visited our favorite stores – Ikea and Harvey Norman just to get some rough ideas of how to design our house so that it can be called ‘home’ to us. Visiting these outlets are fun to us since they’ve got many interior design ideas for home such as the bedrooms, living rooms, bathrooms as well as the kitchen. Do take some notes on the furniture prices so that you’ll have a rough estimation on how much it will cost you later. Obviously you would not want to go over the budget and end up leaving any important items later. You can also visit their websites to view the brochure online. So who said home interior design can’t be fun?
